Tell us a little about yourself and your company

My name is Leneille Moon and I’m the Owner and Creative Director for Special Event Factory we are a floral design team servicing weddings, social and corporate events.

What drew you to weddings?

I’ve always loved weddings and in college, I minored in Hospitality Administration which gave me the tools to become more successful in the industry.

What is the best part of your job?

Making a venue a tad bit prettier with the help of beautiful blooms.

What does a normal event day look like for you?

It’s always busy! We typically run on very little sleep due to putting finishing touches on the night before to ensure everything is perfect.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned and what advice would you give to a newbie in the business?

I’ve learned to think big and stop limiting yourself to what people are typically looking for. You should constantly try new things and don’t be afraid to charge what you think you are worth and not what people think they should pay. You know your true value at the end of the day.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I love watching movies, writing children’s boos, and spending time with my family.

What are your favorite themes or visions to work with?

I love using color, especially bold colors. When my clients tell me they want lots of colors and unique blooms, I get so excited!

Any trends that you love?

I am currently in love with the tinted baby’s breath trend, where you use colored baby’s breath to create very large installations.

Any good stories you can tell us about a client you’ve worked with?

O recently had a sweet couple that entrusted me with their wedding and the bride almost cried when I handed her the bouquet. It really is the best part of the job to see those reactions.

What questions should a couple as a florist before hiring them?

The most important is to ask what a typical budget is for the florals they are looking at.

How far in advance would you suggest couples book their florist?

At least six months to one year.
